WORKING TOGETHER

The Town of Farragut takes pride in the volunteer spirit that thrives in its citizens. Numerous volunteer opportunities are available to those who want to help meet the needs of this community. The personal time, expertise and untiring efforts contributed by the Town’s citizens make a significant impact on Farragut’s success and quality of life.
Citizen Committees
The Town currently has 11 standing committees, councils, boards or commissions that contribute to the success of the Town. All citizen committee members are appointed by the Board of Mayor and Aldermen with the exception of the Farragut Municipal Planning Commission, which is appointed by the mayor. Appointments are made in late May and early June of each year. For information about applying for committees, click here.
This year, the Town has added the Tree Board to provide input on selection, placement, installation and maintenance of trees proposed or envisioned on public property, along with other tasks.

Youth Representatives
Eight of the ten Town of Farragut committees select a youth representative to be a non-voting member. Youth representatives must be juniors or seniors and attend a Farragut school or live in Farragut. Appointments are made in the summer. For more information, click here.

F.U.N. Volunteers
Farragut’s Unsung Navy (FUN) Volunteer Program recognizes those who serve as docents in the Farragut Museum, hosts in the museum gift shop and volunteer staff at Parks & Recreation events. FUN volunteers accumulate hours toward a “rank” and are rewarded for their efforts at special volunteer events.
